I take lots and lots of job briefs for different recruitment companies, but in the IT space this one was a definite dream brief....

My client is looking for someone to join their team as an Account Manager, however let me tell you what an Account Manager means in this company and what you will need to have. You will be out and about managing those key client relationships.  With lots of PSA's and also a great reputation there is hardly the need to 'cold call'.  Most of the time you will know about vacancies before they even become available!  This client is known for its proactive approach, and often already having the placement sorted, before any of their competitors would even know about it.  You will work closely with a Recruitment consultant who looks after all the sourcing and placement, your role is most definitely all about the client.  With lots of PSA's and a loyal client base, you will be busy with those key relationships, but like any great Account Manager, you will always be on the look out for offering better service, more of it, and expanding into new areas.

You will be rewarded with a generous base salary, all the tools of trade to allow flexibility if required and the technical support of national company.  Having met the team, they really are a great group who all work together to make them some of the  most successful Account Managers and also Recruitment consultants within the organisation.


Whislt recruitment experience is not essential, it is really important that you can demonstrate some account management or business development experience.  If you have a recruitment background and proven success in client development and management then they can train you in IT.  For some of you, you are just great relationship people and doing the 360 role of recruitment does not allow you the client development and follow up that you are best at - this is an excellent role to truly do Account Management with the back-up you need.
